Grainger: just about everything one could ask for.

MSC direct: I think it is the largest catalog on the shelf, and has even more than Graingers.

MIT Links: machine tools and procedures.  Use to have a lot of great links to videos, maybe they are still there.

Sparro.com: not sure if they are still in business, site under construction, they had all kinds of unusual tools.

Lincoln Welders:

US Army's Fundamental of Machine Tools: this is a great site for the beginner and has all kinds of useful information.

SMALL PARTS:  In business for 37 years, supplying all sorts of wonderful small parts. Their catalog is even better than the website. They have a full selection of gear, materials books, and obviously enjoy their jobs, give them a visit.  800-220-4242
