Delrin AF is a formula of Delrin and Teflon. This formulation give you about 75% of the strength of Delrin with almost the same coefficient of friction as Teflon. Delrin Specs: Delrin AF Specs: Teflon Specs: Retail price for Delrin AF is $1.80 per cubic inch or about $35 a pound. He you have a chance to try the material for a fraction of the retail price. |

VESPEL SP 211 This is a very expensive formulation of Polyimide and Graphite, it is non-gassing, high temperature and is used as a bearing material in transmissions, hard drives and other applications. Regular price for this material is $54 per inch. More information and Specifications: The retail cost is $2400 for a 38" bar. We have two
bars and will sell by the inch for $30 per inch. This material has
certification numbers and is 1 1/2" diameter. This an
opportunity to work with this material at a more reasonable cost. |
| Monel: is a formulation of approximately 65% Nickel, 30%-32% Copper and 2% Iron with high resistance to sea water corrosion and pitting. Monel is a high strength material that requires rigid set up for machining. Carbide tooling and coolants are recommended. These particular lots being offered are ex-marine propeller shafts and have some surface corrosion. We would propose that the specific alloy would be either 400, 502 or K500. |
